In-Contact, On-Campus Option:

Our course caters to the enthusiastic beginner to intermediate level photographer and takes a varied approach to teach the fundamental concepts of Photography.

Through a combination of theory classes, online resources, supervised practice sessions, and assignments, students learn both the theory and practical application of photographic techniques to take stunning images. 

An introduction to visual literacy supplements the taught technical skills which, in turn, support the comprehensive lecturer feedback provided on submitted practical work. 

This combination helps the learning photographer to develop a sound understanding of the creative opportunities that accompany their evolving technical know-how.

No camera? No problem! As part of this course, you qualify for a reduced-rate rental of an entry-level DSLR camera and lens kit from Orms Rental for only R1000 for the duration of the course.

Structure

The course consists of two sessions per week for four weeks.  Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the duration of the course.

Participants will need to complete homework projects in their own time.

Outcomes

• On completing this course, participants will have:

•  An understanding of photographic composition and visual literacy
